A Little About Me

Hi, I’m Robyn

Music has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started playing the piano at the age of 5, and by 10 I had picked up the clarinet. In high school I added the tenor saxophone to the mix, and since then music has remained a constant and joyful part of my life.

At 19, I began teaching private lessons at a local music school in Cape Town. I quickly discovered how much I loved helping students experience the excitement of learning music for the first time. Four years later, I started my own music school, where I spent several years teaching and guiding students of all ages.

In 2026, I moved to Lausanne, Switzerland, bringing with me my passion for music and teaching. I now offer private piano and music theory lessons, as well as creative digital printouts of music games and worksheets designed to make learning music engaging and fun.

Over the years I’ve taught students from as young as three years old to learners in their eighties. I truly believe that music is for everyone and that it’s never too late to start learning an instrument.

My goal is simple: to help students build confidence, develop strong musical foundations, and most importantly, experience the joy of making music.

Qualifications

My Teaching Approach

Lessons are focused on building a strong foundation in reading music, developing aural skills, and understanding chords. I teach at each student’s pace to help them build confidence and enjoy the learning process. For younger students, I incorporate games and creative activities alongside method books to make lessons engaging and fun.

Children, beginners, adults, and returning learners: from young students taking their first steps in music to adults who have always wanted to learn piano, lessons are adapted to suit each student’s goals, experience, and pace.
